In addition to Beauchamp Estates winning the South London award, its founder Gary Hersham has been given a Lifetime Achievement Award by LonRes.

A statement from the consultancy says: “One of the most influential real estate players in the prime and super prime London [sales] market, Gary founded Beauchamp estates 40 years ago.  Almost five decades on, Gary remains a giant in the sector and the driving force behind some of the biggest deals in the capital.”

Hersham brokered what is thought to be the sale of the UK’s most expensive home: the 45-room, seven-storey 2-8a Rutland Gate in Knightsbridge property, reportedly sold to Chinese billionaire Cheung Chung-kiu for upwards of £200m, far exceeding the previous record of £140m for a UK house.

He speaks seven languages and his agency’s website says his contact book “features individuals from Russia and the Middle East, and the firm has number of global offices in Cannes, St Tropez, Mykonos, Tel Aviv and New York.”
